NIMAS Conversion Service for K-12 Publishers.
Fulfilling your accessibility requirements
BookCode offers reliable solutions to publisher's needs to fulfil accessibility requirements in electronic and printed instructional materials. Including web content compliant to the federal rehabilitation act, section 508, wcag 2.0, level aa, and the national instructional materials accessibility standards (nimas) conversion.
National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standard (NIMAS) format facilitates the production of materials in specialized formats for individuals with visual disabiolities. NIMAC is searchable online file repository of K-12 print textbooks in the XML-based NIMAS format. NIMAS itself is not intended for distribution directly to students, it requires conversion to become a fully-accessible textbook equivalent for students with print disabilities.
MathML is a mathematical markup language, an application of XML for describing mathematical notations and capturing both its structure and content. Publishers must mark up print instructional materials eligible for NIMAS submission that contain mathematical and scientific instructional content by using the latest applicable version of the MathML 3 module of the DAISY/NIMAS Structure Guidelines.
A11Y is a short form for Accessibility. K–12 school districts must plan the acquisition of a new digital technology accessible to people with disabilities. The digital environment can either support or impede the inclusion of people with disabilities. BookCode works closely with publishers to implement accessible digital applications for K-12 as per the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
